New connections and existing lines
A replacement range in a Lower Lonsdale kitchen and a proposed outdoor connection in a North Vancouver yard need different information. Let us know whether a gas line already reaches the location, which appliance is planned, and whether you have selected a model. The route, shutoff and existing installation must be reviewed before work can be priced.
When the issue is urgent
If you smell gas, leave the area and follow FortisBC’s emergency instructions from outside. Do not use a phone or electrical switch while inside. For a non-emergency repair request, note which appliance is affected, what changed, and whether a utility or technician has inspected it. A qualified professional can assess the line and explain the next step.
Replacing an appliance is not always a simple swap
Even when a North Vancouver kitchen or patio already has a gas outlet, the new appliance’s specifications and the existing line still need to be reviewed together. Send the model information and describe any change in location, venting or intended use. In an apartment or townhome, tell us whether a strata or building manager controls access to the line. We can discuss the appropriate assessment before you commit to an installation date.
